Barrick Museum Home
March 11, 2011
The UNLV Barrick Museum announces the launch of its new book club, Books at the Barrick. On the second Thursday of each month from 6 - 8 pm, we will gather at the museum to discuss books about museums and the art world.
To see a list of upcoming selections, or for other information, visit the book club’s page or contact Dustin Wax at dustin.wax@unlv.edu.
The first meeting of Books at the Barrick will take place on April 14, when we’ll be discussing Edward Dolnick’s The Forger's Spell: A True Story of Vermeer, Nazis, and the Greatest Art Hoax of the Twentieth Century. Dolnick’s book not only tells the fascinating story of one of the great forgeries of all time, but explores issues of power and prestige in the art world and how they shape our perception of great - and not-so-great - work.
