Countenance: Self-Portraits by Jerry Shawback will be on display at the UNLV Barrick Museum May 20 - July 2, 2011. The artist’s self-portrait series explores identity through multiple approaches to the same subject matter. Stylistically varied, they reveal the strange and vulnerability essence of the human condition. "Self portraits have the inherent ability to expose the depth and breadth of human nature.” says Shawback. Countenance consists of 9 paintings and drawings and will be on display in the Museum’s Community Gallery.
